Checking on seat availability on SQ

I understand that there are some sites that provide information on seat availability on SQ flights? For example, if I am choosing between 2 different days and want to see which flight has more seats available?

What are these sites, and are any of them free (which is always preferable!

Thanks!

Why not just create an SQ account and do a dummy booking?

Not only will you see how many seats are taken but also the seat plan which shows specific seats that are open.
Just do a dummy booking

No, she is not. She is talking about a dummy booking on the SQ site.

Using any of these methods are not foolproof, unless the flight is close to sold out. That is usually (not always) the most accurate information.

For example, most never show more than 9 open seats, even if there are 50.

Seat maps only show seats that are selected. It does not show how many are actually available. You could see a seat map that is half empty, but the flight is sold out.

None of these take into account irrops that can change everything in short order.

Try KVS tool. Need to pay and download but super easy to use and very fast (esp. if you check the same flight again and again). It uses your own login data and can be used for many different FFPs and airlines, not just Krisflyer/ SQ. Well worth the money due to the time saved. I wish I had found about this tool earlier (just signed up 3 months ago).

Thanks for the suggestion. How do you do a dummy booking? Wouldn't you have to pay the cancellation fee every time you do this?

Of course not. 'Dummy' booking, not 'confirmed' booking.
