'Any seat change will be advised at the gate'
My father is on SQ285 tonight, and has a sticker advising 'Any seat change will be advised at the gate' over where the seat allocation would be. Has anyone seen these before and know what they mean?

Your father has flown SQ285 now. Was there an aircraft swap (from A380 to another type) perchance?

Nope, no aircraft swap - ended up being upgraded to business class, a guy in J wanted to swap to PE so he could sit with his wife. Dad was quite chuffed with the upgrade as he didn't get an RU on the way over.

Why poor guy? Had a similar problem recently and thought of giving up my Biz seat as well. But I solved it by treating wife with the biz seat.
