Silk Air not Star Alliance, so why extra bag allowance?

I'm flying SIN-MDC next week on MI. I booked via SQ's website and have a 4 digit code share flight number. My baggage allowance says 50k...
and when I click on it:
Free baggage: 30Kg
Elite/Star Gold baggage allowance: 20Kg

Now I am really confused. I thought I wouldn't get any *G benefits?
MI's site says I only get 30Kg.

SQ's website not the smartest...

Yes you only get 30kg. Unless you hold *G KF status.

I was able to check my bags through from UA so didn't get to test this, but now I'm curious why they (Silk Air) announced pre-boarding for Star Alliance Golds?
