SQ Business Class seat award redemption from TG ROP

Hello, I'm new to flyertalk,

I'm not sure whether to post on SQ KF or TG ROP forum, but anyway I want to redeem my ROP mileages to fly SQ on the route BKK-SIN-LHR with return in Business Class. After I heard rumours about how hard to get an award seat in SQ Business (as they release a very small number of seat at a time), I decided to ask a question here,

BKK-SIN-LHR (late April) and LHR-SIN-BKK (late June)

1. Should I book as early as I can to get those seats?
2. How hard to get those seats?
3. The availability of SQ Business award seats at a time?
4. As a *Gold member, does this help getting a seat faster?

Thank you for all of your help.

BTW Anyone in this board is studying at Imperial College London?

1. Yes.
2. Difficult. SIN-LHR may prove to be impossible. AFAIK, SQ does not release premium cabin award space to *A partners on the 77W or A380, which are the only a/c that fly on that route.
3. I'm not sure what you mean by this question.
4. No.

This is your dealbreaker right there.

Why not fly BKK-LHR on TG in business?

Actually I am aware that LH MM and AV LM are able to redeem C on the 77W and A380. No F or Suites though.

There are people who've said they've been able to do it, but they seem to be more exceptions rather than anything else.

I suppose if you're conplete flexible about when you can travel, you'll be able to use *A points to book a premium cabin in a 77W/A380. I have a feeling the OP isn't quite that flexible re their travel dates, however.

EDIT: I looked at availability for BKK-SIN-LHR with SQ using my AV LM account, and it seems that there's availability in J for late April. No availability for a return in late June, though. That being said, I don't know if what's visible to me on LM will also be visible to the OP on TG ROP.

No, the seat is not-so-good and the meal service is terrible, I even insisted my parents not to buy those seats but to redeem mileage for.

Either way, it's (more or less) impossible to use non-SQ/LH/AV miles on SQ longhaul J at the moment, as others have observed further up in the thread.

BR is a good option for BKK-LHR if you can find the seats.

I have redeemed UA miles e.g. on TG BKK-OSL (777-300ER with proper seats) and then connect to OSL-LHR on SK. Perhaps a connection via ARN/OSL/CPH could work?

Having said that, I think the A340-600 is ok for a day flight BKK-LHR.

As I mention in my second post, I'm able to redeem BKK-SIN-LHR in J in late April using LifeMiles. Maybe it should be redeemable using ROP too?

LifeMiles is an exceptional case, just like LH.

For everyone else, the only chance is IT error when they release accidentally.
