Upgrade from Econoy to First Class (Suite)Singapore Airlines LAX to NRT
I am new to the miles upgrading, so far I've only done LAX to LHR via Virgin Atlantic. Now I'm working on doing LAX to NRT. Is it possible to buy a Economy ticket and upgrade to suite class? Or would I need to purchase a business class ticket? Any help is greatly appreciated.

if you are using miles to upgrade you can only do a one-class upgrade, i.e. Business class to Suites and only using KF miles.

So yes, you need a Business class ticket

With money, yes I guess. But it will cost you maybe around $8000 oneway.
