We anticipate that this webinar/conference call will last 30 minutes; however, if there are a lot of questions fielded from the participants, it may naturally run longer than this.

I suggest people test the web link in advance. You need to have Adobe Flash installed. BTW, I hope the time is wrong on the link, it says it begins at 8AM EST. I do not know why they can't get time and timezones correct. You would think people in the travel industry would know such things.

Was looking at the choices and webpages. Outstanding, William. This eliminates all the people calling and wishing to change their promotion, which may be part of the reason for doing this.

Question, which you may or may not be able to answer:

Last year (based on my reading of FT), those who earned PLT status via Double Stays did not receive a discounted award stay. I won't ask what the plans are for this year, just this: Those who eventually hit 25 actual stays in 2007, but earned PLT status through the promotion, did they get this certificate?

That was a myth perpetuated by my misunderstanding an internal communication between myself and SPG. No one who was a so-called "Double-Stay Plat" was prevented from participating in this offer if they were chosen to receive it. This has been confirmed here four times already by people who were self-proclaimed "Double-Stay Plat". Trouble is, not every Platinum was included in the offer for whatever reason, so that added to the myth.

As for this offer, yes, SPG has run it several years running; however, it would be a real mistake to look at this as an added benefit to being Platinum. For one, as we've seen already, not every Platinum gets it every year. For another, it may be something that SPG might decide to not do again.

So, here is my advice on this...if you want to be Platinum next year and you need help with Stays Count Double, then enroll in it. If you don't, then don't. But, don't let the 50% off redemption thing be a deciding factor because it may not be forthcoming at all next year and you will have missed your opportunity. Likewise, if SPG decides that the so-called "Double-Stay Plat" folks aren't going to get it next year if it is offered, at least you will enjoy the benefits of being Platinum.

I'm in. But this binging when each person enter the conference is less than optimal. They assured me here at the Le Meridien Delhi that the India int'l toll free call wouldn't cost me anything. Time will tell.

The beeps are disruptive to the speakers, maybe something can be done to fix that in the future,

I understand. My dilemma is that I will have 26+ stays regardless - I will just reach PLT faster with this promotion and will be PLT when I have 2 stays at the PH in Vegas (baby!) rather than needing those to reach PLT.

I've already signed up. It puts me 3 stays away instead of 5 and I'm not sure how much other staying I'll do this year (other than the 6 I already have booked), so it's a good choice for me.

Thanks.

A suggestion for the future -- is there away that the speaker's audio could be sent over the web link? That way people would not have to use both internet and phone connections. High phone charges at some hotels could get expensive.

The Webinar is over, so I am going to lock this thread. Let's have discussion about the promo on one thread, PROMO: Q4 2008 Promo - SPG You Choose.

RichMSN, I moved a two of your posts to that thread, along with a response. I'm sorry that the flow of conversation for you is now a bit disjointed. If you have a better idea, please PM me.
