(DEAL GONE) Hertz MAN $17.01 GBP per week midsize car

http://www2.hertz.co.uk/index.cfm

With tax comes out to $19.99 GBP per week. Additional days are $2.43GBP per day + tax

Midsize with manual transmission and no Air Conditioning but a nice price. Only seems to work for MAN

Vehicle Type: Mid Size - Green Collection
Unlimited mileage

Hey that's pretty cool. Too bad I have no use for it.

Did you have to include a UK residence? Unable to get rate using US residence.

Does not come up on US site.

Can see the low rate on UK site,
but don't see how to test if it works with US residence,
as the screen to enter address is the same as for credit card,
and is definitly prepaid.

Although one can cancel free within 7 days...

and I didn't see any residency requirement in the T&C.

Thumbs up

Don't forget £8 cashback per booking if booked through quidco.com, or up to 1700 BMI miles per booking if booked through flybmi.com. Makes a great deal.... greater!!

As a BD member, you should have booked shorter periods to maximise the 1700 miles per rental...

Please note the following in the T+C which, could make this great deal worthless:

AVAILABILITY
==========================================

All reservations are made subject to availability. We regret that we may not be able to supply the car class/group or additional equipment required. If we are unable to conform with your vehicle reservation, we will endeavour to offer you an alternative vehicle in the next highest class/group, at no extra charge. Alternatively, we will refund your reservation charges in full. WE REGRET THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT LOSS OR DAMAGE WHICH YOU INCUR WHICH WAS NOT REASONABLY FORESEEABLE BY US, OR FOR ANY INDIRECT LOSS OR DAMAGE, ARISING FROM OUR FAILURE TO HONOUR ANY PART OF YOUR RESERVATION.

I may give this a try, as I live near Manchester - would be worth renting even for a full year instead of leasing a car @£20/week including maintenace and road tax - a bargain for sure.
