GHM's Nam Hai in Hoi An, Vietnam

opened last December, anyone been?

just noticed these pictures - beachfront villas with private pools literally right off the beach, walls on 2-3 sides, club amenities, and design is a lot better than FS Langkawi IMHO

http://www.designhotels.com/images/n...nhotels9_0.jpg

3BR $2060
5BR $2300

there is also a special on regular villas (presumably base @ $550) through August
-3rd night free
-4th night free plus confirmed upgrade to pool villa with club amenities

Brillant design - brillant food!

Was there in the opening weeks in december.
Design is brilliant, the restaurant was fantastic.
There were only some big sand-parts in between the villas,
which looked quite depressing. Maybe they fixed it now.

Very nice butlers in the pool villas, though.

Do go!

thanks! so the 1BRs are not really private at all?

new price comparison for beachfront with pool >
FSKS $1310 (30 min from BKK)
FS Langkawi $1740 (1 hour from BKK)
Rayavadee ~$2000 (1.5 hours from BKK)
Nam Hai $2080 (1 hour from BKK)

yes, but considering that Nam Hai is a 3 BR while Langkawi is a a 1 BR... those rates are not really comparable. In my case, I only need one bedroom.

Thus, at Nam Hai, a 1 BR Pool Villa (non-beachfront?) comes at $850 per night, including club amenities - not bad for 250sqm of space.

The question is, what's the view like from the 1 BR pool villas at Nam Hai?

i was referring to the price differences.

if its not beachfront, based on some of the pictures i saw, and possibly what deer was saying, youve still got sand/beach, but you could be set pretty far back away from the ocean.

Non-Beachfront Villas

The Non-Beachfront Villas are between 50 and 250 meters from the Ocean. You will have some kind of ocean view (different from unit to unit) from the garden, but mostly not from the rooms.

The non-pool Villas are quite close each to another, since the pool Villas have enough garden-space around them.

Kagehitokiri: I didn't mind to criticize you. I usally only go for beachfront myself, but booking a 3 BR for 2 pax would be kind of unusual, hence I would personally not compare it to the other places.

deer: thanks for the clarification

BTW, is the Nam Hai a Virtuoso Hotel?

nam hai doesnt have 1BR beachfront with pool. therefore the 1BR beachfront is not comparable to FS Langkawi.

again, i was comparing PRICES. someone willing to spend $1500 for FS Langkawi might be interested in spending $500 more for what i see as a number of additional features. (although i dont know how service compares, of course for many that is very important)

wow. it is a virtuoso property! ^

thanks david ^

no upgrades

also from ghm site (club benefits) >
- complimentary laundry (except dry cleaning)
- complimentary minibar (and) afternoon tea and cocktail hours with free flow of drinks including house wines and canapes within the villa

so the 3rd night free offer isnt combinable with virtuoso benefits? 4th night free would actually be better than virtuoso since it has the upgrade. (both through Aug)

Im heading to Bangkok shortly and have checked around as to where to relax for a few days. I think i will stay at a beach resort close to BKK.

However, I previously checked directly with GHM Vietnam and they offered me same deal as virtuoso .

Are there any recent reports on this property from folks who have stayed there? Were you satisfied with value for the price paid?

How long does it take to go into Hoi An?

Are there any promotional rates this summer?
