Status Match

Does BA offer status matches when given your status is currently only on domestic airlines?

BA doesn't do status matches... you may hear of the odd (very) rare case, but the 99.999% rule is no.

Yup, no upgrades for elites (so if you pay for a premium ticket you don't have to sit in a crowded cabin) and no status matches, again to encourage people to buy a premium ticket in the first place.

Perhaps not coincidentally, BA is on target to have a 10% profit margin this year.

I'm confused. Is the OP specifically referring to status match with BMI / VS? Or does he actually mean US airlines?

I think he means 'Would BA comp someone whose existing FF statement would show that he only ever flies on domestic US flights?'

As much status as he can get matched, it would seem E.g. AirTran , US Air ...

In which case it would lead to question why the OP would want BA status if he/she only flies domestic, apart from maybe lounge access in the US

I think the only OW carrier which matches is AA, and even then they generally get people to commit to a Platinum or Gold challenge before handing out status. I don't believe any of the other OW carriers status match - certainly not CX or QF anyhow.

If you want OW status, you need to earn it!

Of course not....

However, if your employer is a F500 type company and has negotiated rates with BA, you could easily get your travel dept to comp you. Funnily enough, at my co, (where AA, BA, LH, UA are preferred carriers) BA auto comps AA, but AA does not reciprocate - and offers challenges only!
