Exclamation FFN Is Coming -- Announcement By The End Of This Week!!

I just got off the phone with the Diamond Desk and they confirmed that there will be another FFN promotion period and that the website will have the announcement by the end of this week!

She could not give me specifics as to the operative dates, and how many stays would be necessary to earn a free night (you know they could change the parameters for earning them), or the dates for redemption, but she was able to confirm that it would again be in conjunction with a MasterCard.

So, check the website regularly for any developments and post them once they are known!

GP cust. service. I called and said that I "heard" that they might have FFN back. She said it was definite and volunteered the dates. I also confirmed the 2 stay per free night requirement. She added that it was with Mastercard again.

Great News!!!

Oh my god! Do I need to start switching the property every night as I did last year during the promotion? If I can recall right I ended up racking 20+ FFN's.

Does the Hyatt gift card payment show as a Mastercard payment on the folio?

yes, you have to switch .

and

no, you have to pay for the stay 100% with MC.

I was about to order a bunch of gift cards to cover my needed stays for the rest of the year.

I'm glad I didn't.

^ Great news.

Now I can eventually turn my Christmas holiday award reservation into a FFN stay and keep hoarding those points.

Mary, that is not my experience in the past. I have had stays where I paid down part of the folio with GC ***then, after that*** later closed out the folio with MC. This counted as an MC stay. YMMV, but this is how they handled it in th past.

Karen, any comment on the official policy here?

The rules usually state that the entire stay has to be paid with the MC. I would not mention any loopholes / errors.

That was exactly what I was thinking of as well. Also the Hyatt Gift Card could well be actually a MasterCard. It wouldn't surprise me at all because of the MasterCard relationship they have.

I could order about $5K worth of Hyatt GC’s if they would work this way. It is just more money into Hyatt’s pockets (and some more Hyatt GP points for holtju2).
