the ART picnic table

I've been meaning to post this for a while ....

Someone from my company actually legitimately had to visit a client in the Watertown, NY area.

Without knowing anything about my "habit" - he made an offhand comment about the "quaint airport with a single picnic table covered in weird graffiti" to another co-worker that I happened to overhear.

I laughed inside. I think some runner should try to purchase that table for posterity.

This is the first I've heard about the table (but I've heard plenty about the famed ART runs). Perhaps FTers should compose some funny anecdotes or stories and write a book. Or even publish an article in InsideFlyer or some other 'zine.

I saw the table from afar... it was freezing when I was in ART so I decided not to go visit it. It was a surprisingly memorable place, though.

Me, too. Only made it to ART once, out of four original SAN-ART bookings.

The others became YOW, BUF and PIT.

And I became 1P.

This brings back great memories from last summer. I enjoyed walking into Dexter during my 2+ hour layovers in ART. Did anyone else ever walk to Dexter while they were waiting for the flight back to PIT?

I left only my name with a sharpie pen, my pocket knife stays home these days.
I'm sure imy name has faded. This trip was the first airplane ride for my brother-in-law.
We did DFW-PIT-watertown and return in one day. A great time.

I resemble that remark!

(and damn, was it ever cold and unpleasant...)
