Strange code in "My Itineraries"

Logged into My Itineraries this evening to check the waitlist status of an upgrade on LAX-SFO-PEK scheduled for March. Last time I checked, I was waitlisted for C PEK-SFO on 3/18 and it said:

Flight: Confirmed
SSR_MP_PB

With no seating assignment for the NC booking.

Knowing about the PA and PB waitlists, I figured the code was some reference to my position. Now, the code has changed to:

SSR_MP_KL

Any idea what this means? In addition, there's a little red reminder (in the waitlisted segment box only) to call UA to confirm; however, there's been no schedule change for UA888 since I booked a couple of weeks ago. Should I bother calling to see what's up?

Sorry, I'm a newbie so this question may seem elementary...but what does PA and PB stand for?

PA and PB are two different upgrade waitlists, PA being the higher/better of the two. Your upgrade instrument and other factors determine which one you end up on.

UPDATE: I checked UA888 for 3/18 and it's gone from I0 to I9. I'll call tomorrow to make sure I have one of those slots.

Still curious about the code, if anyone knows...

KL means you've cleared the waitlist. Call to select a seat in your upgraded cabin.

PA/PB are waitlists.

So..whats the difference between SSR_MP_KK and SSR_MP_KL?

Thanks! ^

Rather unintuitive, though, if you ask me

When I called, the computer voice told my my upgrade had cleared and handed me over to a U.S. based agent for my seat assignment ^

Got 16A for both 889 and 888. I tried getting 15A on 889, as ual.com showed it to be unoccupied, but the agent wouldn't let me book it. Do they enforce the rule of allowing pre-booking of exit rows for only 1Ps and above in C as well?

16A as well as 17A are both fine seats.

Not that I have specific knowledge, but I remember reading somewhere that "KK" is "Can Confirm" or something like that.

Thanks, I just noticed that code on a PS flight for week after next. I got the email saying it cleared and checked to confirm on My Itineraries and saw the weird code I hadnt seen. This will be useful in the future if we are trying to move from one waitlist to another.

KL Confirming from waitlist.

NA Need the segment specified or alternate segment immediately following confirmed segment.
NN Need.
NO No action taken.
OX Holds confirmed as alternate. Cancel only if requested segment is available.
PN Pending need, request sent.
PD Priority waitlist.
RR Reconfirmed.
SS Sell.
TK Schedule change for confirmed segment.

Where are those codes??

I too am listed as on the waitlist for an F upgrade from C for SFO to SYD on 1/19. I see I'm waitlisted, but I don't see anything like those codes. I'm confirmed for SYD to SFO on 3/2, but again, no codes. Is there a setting or different way to get to My Intineraries I should use?
