Exclamation Business Award booked in Economy

Today I booked a 3-segment return Award (i.e. 3 segments x 2). Throughout the booking, the whole flight as well as the individual segments showed 'Bus(iness Class)'. After providing my personal details plus credit card details to pay the taxes, the final confirmation screen (i.e. after paying!) showed only 'Bus' for the AMS-CDG and CDG-AMS segments, but showed 'Eco' for the two connecting long-haul segments (both directions).

Fortunatly, I noticed the 'Annuleer/Cancel' button, so I immediately cancelled the whole Award.

I called the FD-helpdesk: they confirmed that the Award was cancelled, at no costs (so not the EUR 40), and that no Miles would be deducted.

They would log the issue that the Award booking tool mentions Bus throughout the booking, except in the final confirmation screen.

Of course, this is quite misleading (and in my case: disappointing)...

So always check your final confirmation screen when you make an Award booking, and if you don't like what you get, CANCEL immediately!!

Thanks for the heads up, one to keep an eye on.

Let's take the positives out of this though:

1. You could log into your account.
2. Able to get seats that could be booked.
3. An answer from the FB Desk with a human operator.

Sorry couldn't resist (please don't flame me).

something similair happened to me just now. Have only managed to get EWR-IAH in G class (eco) and IAH-LIM in Biz (E) but looking up my trip in www.checkmytrip.com applies exactly the opposite - that G is BIZ and E is Eco. I veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery much hope that's not the case, but PB agents all confirmed the original idea.

On the downside, I checked award availabilty yesterday and was surprised positively, however when I tried to book it after selecting the flights there was an error message highligthing that no flights were actually available and that I should look for an alternative flights.....

This is certainly very annoying but was an every day feature of the old FD booking engine, displaying availability despite no availability being there....

Please FB com`on, you cannot be so incompetent after all, right ??
