Thumbs up New Promo! Double your fun by earning a companion ticket from United

Dear Mr Motion122,

With two United roundtrips, you earn one free* companion ticket to your choice of popular nonstop destinations.

It just takes two—two roundtrips on United to earn a free companion ticket so you can take along someone special on your next paid trip.

Register now and fly by November 15th.

Just register and fly two paid, qualifying roundtrips on United nonstop flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to New York (JFK), Boston (BOS) or Washington, D.C. (IAD) between June 9 and November 15, 2004. You’ll earn a free companion ticket valid for future travel in United Economy® on United, United Express® or Ted(SM) between LAX and these popular nonstop destinations**.

Register now and then complete two paid, qualifying roundtrips by November 15, 2004, to earn a free companion ticket.

** Nonstop destinations as of June 8, 2004, and are subject to change without notice.

I'll skip the T&C so I don't take up too much space here.

Promo is MPDB84 and here is the link..

I received this offer by email as well...but I live in San Francisco, so it's a bit of a drive to the airport at LAX.

Unhappy

Is this offer targeted and not combineable with other offers? I think America West is having a similar promotion. I may do a mileage run just to get this companion certificate if it allowed a trip from HNL-Somewhere and a HNL-LAX-JFK flight would not count for this promotion. Is a saturday night stay not allowed?

Exclamation Heads up!!!

Everybody please note:

The companion ticket is ex-LAX.

As best as I can tell, the offer is not targeted, but you must register prior to qualifying flight activity.

Edited to add that the offer is not combineable.

Can someone who received the offer please enter the T&C's? They're not accessible via the registration page and this frequent LAX-JFK flyer has yet to receive the offer

Maybe the offer is designed to clear up the blockage in LAX. Or else they're expecting some runs at the ticket counter...

Here you go. I was surprised that the email listed YYZ as a nonstop destination- does that mean that the free ticket could be used on an AC codeshare?

A roundtrip is defined as travel from an origin city to a destination city with return travel beginning in the outbound destination city back to the first origin city with all segments on United. Open jaw or circle trip itineraries do not qualify. Any individual may earn a maximum of two free certificates. Doesn't seem particularly fair that one can accrue for the companion ticket with flights going TO LAX but the companion ticket itself can only originate in LA.

This promo is evidently has America West in the crosshairs.

I wonder a routing of LAX-SFO-JFK then JFK-LAX would qualify for this promo. Anyone?
