Roll Call Thread Part II

I will take some initiative and open a new thread until we locate the old one...

My name is Chris, I live in Wilmington, DE and primarily fly USAirways. This year i will have flown around 50,000 miles primarily for leisure with a couple work trips.

I tend to go Europe a lot and often travel with "Sin5cents" another poster on this board. I've actually made a couple good friends on flyertalk and am one of the co-moderators now of the GLBT forum.

I'm single and really need to find a new hobby other then getting on planes and travelling!

Hi Chris (and other travelers!)...I will take your lead and do my part to keep this thing going.

My name is Mark and I live in Scottsdale, AZ. I am a CPA and have my own firm. My firm does traditional tax and accounting work but in addition I do quite a bit of financial planning (or wealth building) as I prefer to call it.

I have a fairly large client base in Las Vegas, so I travel up there weekly. Generally I am there for a day or two each week.

Year to date, I have just over 100 segments flown on America West alone.

I love to travel and have been to many cool places around the world (for fun). If I did not need to work, I would spend much much more time exploring the world.

I am going to Cancun to try scuba diving over the Christmas holidays.

I am brand new to this message board. It seems like there are lots of people that "know" each other. I am hoping to join that club.

Well I don't think the other thread will be "found" so we'll go with this one.

Welcome PhxFlyGuy!!

And I'll re-introduce myself. I'm Peter, live in CVG, and early retired (long story) from commercial real estate finance. We fly Delta because of our location in CVG. Travel frequently to California. One major trip, usually a cruise, in Europe late summer/early fall. A long weekend in London in November. My parents are in BUF, so I'm there fairly often.

Also, I'm co-moderator for this forum. So welcome to everyone

Hi, my name is BackOfTheBus, and I AM a Flight-o-holic! I live in exciting Gainesville, FL (voted #1 college party town for many years in a row ) and am a 22 y.o. 1st year dental student.

I am also a highly regarded Northwest Airlines Silver Elite Member with about 30,000 Northwest and 20,000 other airline miles flown this year

My favorite places include everything skiable West of the Mississippi, Gay Mecca (also known as SFO/OAK/SJC), anything in Canada, pretty much all of Western Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, Bulgaria (oh, motherland!) and the so far virgin territories of Asia (except SIN) and Australia.

I am also in desperate need of good film and book recommendations, as flying, travelling and Flyertalk seem to consume most of my hobby time.

I happen to have a girlfriend in MHT and can frequently be seen in ATL and SFO, where I have a lot of friends and former classmates.

I am still single and looking for that perfect Flight Attendant to marry!

My name is Alex, and I am a 24yo techie graduate student in Boston.

I have been here for a year and a half, and I very much miss the West Coast, so I fly to SFO/OAK often. I usually make it to Europe once or twice a year, though I have my eyes set on Australia for next summer (and I have enough UA miles for that trip!). Road trips, hiking and such are also fun.

I used to collect miles on AA, NW, and HP, but for various reasons I've concentrated my flying on UA in the last few years and am pretty happy with them.

While I have not contributed to FT all that much since joining, I read it almost every day, and I look forward to learning more and meeting some folks as times goes on.

Alex

I'm Mike, I'm 21 and I'm living near CVG now being a transplant from MI. Got my love of flight (especially commercial flight) from my dad, who is a captain for the largest airline in CVG (hint: its not Delta). I have to admit that I haven't flown since September of this year but I miss it terribly.
My b/f and I currently work at the busiest riverboat casino in the world, so that explains why I haven't flown in awhile.
I like to read the posts more than I like to reply to the posts so most of the time I tend to lurk.

I might as well repost my details.

My name is Travis. I’m 31 years old, and I currently live in Ann Arbor, Michigan with my boyfriend of nearly 3 years. We recently moved from San Francisco, and are adapting to living in the colder, culinarily deprived, and less culturally diverse confines of Michigan. In the big picture, Ann Arbor is a pretty decent place to live, but I think we’ll be looking to move on in a few years (as alanw already knows. )

I’m a ex-consultant, and now work for a one of my former clients – “one of the top 10 airports” in the U.S. (as we used to say in consultant-speak.) I’m sure you can put two and two together to figure out where I work. If you’re ever flying through, drop me a line, and I’ll meet you for lunch.

Travel and lifestyle wise, I’m dealing with both the positive and negative ramifications of transitioning from consultant to airport employee. On the positive side, I have much more time to spend with my boyfriend due to reduced travel and a less intense work schedule. On the negative side, my business travel has basically evaporated – it will drop from about 200,000 miles in the past twelve months, to no more than 25,000 in 2004. I guess we'll have to make up for the lack of business trips with more leisure travel. I prefer to travel on AA internationally (given their favorable upgrade policies) and NW domestically (for the same reason).

What else?

My screen name means absolutely nothing, other than a vague reference to the silly AKC name (“snorky’s golden rose of york") I gave my golden retriever when I was a 12 year old kid. Sometimes I wonder if people presume that I’m some sort of snorkeling-gear wearing sadist, but I’d like to take this opportunity to confirm that I have yet to pursue such an extracurricular (or for that matter full time) activity.

Cheers,

Travis

Let's hope this thread doesn't disappear like the other one with all the effort we put in! My name's Bruce, and I live in SF very close to Castro and Market. Work in the travel industry. Use my job to figure out how to keep 1K status on UA each year w/ least amount of miles and $$$. 38 and single. Share a house w/ a roommate who's also on this forum. Looking forward to the Palm Springs Gayla to meet many who post here.

Hey yall

27 yo grad student...I'll leave it to you to figure out where and what from my login.

About to gain status on NW for the first time with my trip to LAS/LAX next week.

In the last year, been to SEA twice, LAS twice, HNL/ITO, Europe (LUX/TRN), and some smaller local trips. Haven't done Asia, but want to.

It's somewhat refreshing that here, when guys ask for your 'stats,' they want to know how many miles/points you have and elite status

By the way, great also to see all the young guys here. Gives me hope that I'll find another guy who likes to travel one of these days.
