Three meal choices in Club Europe domestic!

On Friday's evenings flight from Edinburgh to Gatwick - I was offered a choice of three options for dinner.

Salmon Salad
Chicken Salad
Croque Monsieur

Was also served 4 x Tanquerays during the hour flight. That's a record!
The on board manager was from Liverpool, and I recalled that I've always had a great flight with crew from Liverpool.

Also, regarding the Tanqueray, on this flight and my flight to Aberdeen, I was offered a choice of Gordons or Tanqueray. This has never happened before but the crew said they've always offered two choices.

Have had literally dozens of flights in the last year and I've never seen Tanqueray on board. Is it a new option?

Is the salmon salad new or does booking on the last LGW-EDI on a Sunday mean they've already been eaten? I've only had it once and I much prefer it to the chicken. I like the CM too though, especially after too much champagne in the lounge!

Tanquaray is always 'offered' in Club Europe I've ne ear had it. I've fed this back each time and I've had confirmation it's been fed back but yet to see the proof. I have 2 CE flights in the next couple of weeks so let's see.

Having done quite a few of the shorter CE routes over the last few months, the trend I have noticed is that Croque Monsieur and either the Salmon or Chicken salad are offered (salmon on outbound from London and chicken inbound seems to be the trend), but when I asked if they had anything else the crew have often said they've chicken either left over from the previous sector or have a spare from the next sector, so sounds like you got the choice of that sectors offerings plus what was not used on the way up!

Sounds like a nice flight!

Goes to show BA do deliver an 'up there with the best' service on a short flight if you're willing to pay a supplement.

They've had Tanqueray for quite a while, but crew often offer the Gordons as standard. Just specify which gin you'd like.

I've drank them out of Tanqueray before, but that's a different story.

Today's offering in CE

Just got off DUS-LHR and offered Coronation Chicken salad, Breader Chicken with potato salad or a veg option.
Managed 2 Champagne and was given an additional one to take home.
Amazing crew. Clean airplane.
Whats not to like?

The loading of Tanqueray is very hit and miss. I generally see it on about half of the flights I work. By all means ask for it, but be prepared for none to be loaded. Consistently inconsistent!!

It might be a stupid question but they are serving a croque monsieur hot?

Assuming that's the case, isn't it an improvement on a chilled option only on very short flight (admittedly it's rare for me to take a very short flight so I may be remembering it wrong)?

I am not sure if I fancy a non-hot croque monsieur though!

I asked for Tanqueray last night LHR - EDI but all they had was Gordons....Tanqueray was not offered on domestic routes they said. Chap in front of me asked for a croque Monsieur but there none on offer. Chicken salad and a (not too bad) chilli beef panini.
