Domestic YVR Maple Leaf Lounge - Breakfast?

Been a while since I have been in YVR domestic Maple Leaf lounge. Does it serve breakfast items at around 6:30 or 7:00 am?

Thanks,

Please define breakfast items. Toast yes, Hard boiled eggs maybe, coffee most likely... sausages, bacon and made order eggs? No.

Muffins and Yogurt yes. The cappuccino machine also usually works at that time of the day.

If you have AMEX/Platinum Plaza access they have better spread over by the WestJet gate area. The Plaza space just as you enter the AC gate area is also fairly good.

Not anymore. Used to about 1.5-2 years ago - omelettes, hash browns, sausages were served but that stopped.

Just the hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, muffins, toast, some fresh fruit.

Ya, its really really REALLY gone downhill over the last year.

A year ago, you could get tons of stuff (as mentioned above), but now you're lucky to basically get anything.

Which surprises me since their business sales team is really starting to sell the lounge hard.

That's becuase AC made it such that there is nothing to look forward to in the morning.

Vicious cycle?

The Priority Pass lounges are usually better.

AC lounges don't have too much to look for any more.

But with all the cutbacks, higher earnings and higher stock prices, the AC execs are happy with their huge bonuses.

What I don't get is why the change AGAIN?

It used to suck, maybe some toast and yogurt if you are lucky.

Then they get the sausage, eggs, omelette, french toast, hard boiled eggs, etc etc (sure the quality can be debated but they had it).

And now back to basically nothing.

In YYJ, the pay-per-drink MLL (aka Spinnakers) now serves booze from 9a. BC Liquor laws are relaxing.

I think we should petition AC to apply for the change to their licence for the YVR MLL. Especially for international! Boarding flights to Asia without a buzz sucks.

Its all about power.
Give and take.

The question becomes: what are you going to do about it?

As someone who frequently travels to a country with a 12.5 hour timezone difference I would fully support 24 hour liquor service. In the world of Air Travel your local timezone doesn't really mean a lot.

International MLL (especially the ones not in NA don't ever get me started in the NY ones) are better.

Perhaps the most recent cuts are due to the poor Q1 results. You know, from the high oil prices.

But is that due to an inability to book flights with AC?

Thanks all

It is good to have one's expectations set ..... A plateful of disappointment first thing in the morning before the flight .....

I'll eat before I head to the airport. Again, thanks,

Cheers,
COF
