Starwood-->Qantas-->BA Concorde?
Is this math right?
1.) Open a Qantas account
2.) Transfer 105,000 SPG Points into it. That's 105K + 20K(5K bonus per 20K transferred). But, with the 2:1 Qantas airline transfer, it's effectively 250K when the transfer is complete.
3.) Using Qantas' OneWorld partnership with BA, redeem 2 BA Concorde awards JFK-LHR for 125,000 each.
Apparently people over on the Qantas board are talking positively about this.

You can't redeem transatlantic BA awards with AA points, but apparently with QF you can. SPG seems to have a very generous transfer ratio with QF.
In fact, for any BA flight across the Atlantic, this seems to be a good way to redeem the points.

I haven't done this, but I am ecstatic at the possibility of doing it if it works!

Actually, you'd end up with 260K:
Transfer 105K SPG points to Quantas. That's 105K + 25K (5K bonus per 20K transferred). 230K x 2 = 260K.

My math was wrong, but the idea is there. And a call to the QF Frequent Flyer customer service confirmed it. 125,000 QF points will get you a seat on the concorde. A call to SPG confirmed that the transfer is indeed 2 QF points for 1 SPG point.
So, 100,000 points is the right math.
100K = 125K with the 5K threshold bonuses. Double that and Whoola. 250,000 points and a 2 tix on the concorde worth about $20,000.
By comparison, 100,000 points would get me 10 nights in a Cat 5 property at an average of $200-$300/night value equalling only $2000-$3000 total value.

I just signed up for Quantas Frequent Traveller, now all I have to do is transfer my SPG points (52,500), make sure they show up, and I'll be on my way

Just so everyone knows, this idea is patent pending. Anyone who takes advantage of it shall gift me one ticket on the concorde.

You're still going to be 10K short.

Well, I've made the transfer, now I just have to decide when I want to go (and make sure of availability on the Concorde).
PS- I did have a bit of a problem in entering my transfer amount and found I had to enter it as 52.500-- not with a ',' or 52000. Otherwise, it would reject with a statment stating the amount was outside the limits for the airline.

My math is convoluted. Indeed, logic would have it that 52.5K points would net 105K double points plus the 10K SPG transfer bonus X 2 = 125,000.
