Post Photo Trip Report: Work Visits in Kuala Lumpur & Singapore-A Galore of SQ Flights!

Just like trips to Toronto, Kuala Lumper and Singapore have been on work itineraries often this year. KL and SIN each filled with rich history of multi-cultural heritage, world class airports, fine eateries and suject matters and sites that are photographers' dreams.

Unfortunately, just like other busy business travellers, I don't really have the time to truly explore all those wonderful things. Each location deserves a long trip report filled with interesting travel stories and photographs that reflects the true colors and lives of these two facinating cities.

To celebrate making PPS on Singapore Airlines this week (still not too sure about what benefits PPS will bring to my future travels), I thought I share some of the photos from several business trips made to KL and SIN in recent months. The flights into SIN and KL are the only reasons I have made PPS. In addition, I am falling in love flying SQ. It is just that much better than the airlines I usually fly for loyalty programs and upgrade benefits in Continental, United and Lufthansa. If the new United phases out or reduces its million-miler incremental benefits (2, 3 million and above), SQ and NH (just did a couple of NH flights and was truly impressed) will likely be my choice of airlines going forward on transpac and Asia-EU travel. SQ also does transatlantic flights and with Virgin as its partners, I am sure I can find ways not to fly Continental/United as often.

Back to topic, I will have photos of the following in this photo trip report:

1. photos from 8 flights on Singapore Airlines
2. Le Meriden and Shangri-La Trader's Hotel in KL
3. Four Seaons and Grand Hyatt in Singapore
4. KUL and SIN terminals and Transit Hotel at SIN T3
5. Photos from a few spots in KL and SIN
6. Food

......stay tuned!

I agree. I look forward to your TR's, UA_Flyer! ^ Never knew what SQ's PPS Club was until you said you qualified for it. The benefits after looking online seem to be the same as a *G member.. nothing special or is there some special about it other than qualifying off revenue?

I scratch my head on the true incremental benefits of PPS. I guess there is priority waitlist of PPS members. Other than that, I don't see it matches what I have with United GS. I have posted a question on SQ Forum about PPS benefits, and has not got a lot of responses. As far as I can see, the only incremental benefit to me is able to access United/US/CO lounges when I travel domestically on those three carriers.

The start of yet another brilliant trip report filled with magnificent photos! A true inspiration to all FTers and you seem to outdo yourself every time.

Very annoyed though because I didn't get the SQ Satay Sticks on my last flight! I had been waiting years to try them and was so depressed when they weren't on the menu. But that's ok, I'll just have to live vicariously through your TRs

You are flattering me! I am the one who has been impressed by your blog on food and travel! Yummies and flying in style with lovely photos.

Yes, satays are definitely a nice treat on SQ. I think they are offered on most of the dinner flight. Definitely between SIN and North Asia flights during dinner hours. I just flew FRA-SIN-BNE, but cannot remember exactly what I ate (too much flying). Let me check the photos taken on the flight to see if Satays were served.

I don't know what you look for while on vacation, and also I am a business traveller and typically not travelling much for vacation. Because I am on the road so much, I tend to stay home during vacation.

I think some of the Malyasia has some really nice beaches and there are enough culture venues for those who are looking for something more than just pool/ocean and outdoor activities.
