Anymore info on recent redemption increase for intra-asia?

I heard Delta increased intra-asia delta partner award ticket redemption from 20,000 to 45,000 miles.
But decreased ICN-NRT to 15,000.

Delta call center isn't giving me much information, since most of them are Delta partner airline redemption chart and I had to ask for every city/country.

Anyone has more info.?

I haven't heard anything. I booked a North Asia to South Asia last week in Biz for the standard 40k RT. Coach ticket would have been 20k.

Yeah... I book ICN-PVG on KE for 20,000 for my friend last week.

This is news from yesterday, right after they took expiration off for SM.

I meant on delta partner 20,000 mile redemption.

heard from people who tried to book ICN-Guam or Singapore yesterday.
Used to be 20,000 on delta partner, now 45,000.

Apparently, DL has changed the miles required to travel within Asia in the last 2 days or so. Hard to believe all the changes DL is making after the merger. DL is to lose a lot of frequent fliers in Japan after this change. It was only a few years ago I used to fly NRT-BKK biz for 30,000 miles.

NRT-ICN Y15,000 C30,000
NRT-PVG, PEK, HKG, TPE Y25,000 C45,000
NRT-SIN, BKK, MNL, GUM, etc. Y45,000 C70,000

Maybe they are cranking-up the redemption rates before releasing their long-delayed award chart.

Verified this on the Delta website. Keep in mind these are the lowest award redemption levels.

Here's a comparison to the competitors award charts for North Asia to Southeast Asia.

AA/oneworld Y40,000 C70,000
UA/*Alliance Y20,000 C30,000 (Low)
UA Y40,000 C65,000 (High)
DL/Skyteam Y20,000 C40,000 (last week)

UA is the clear winner. At high levels you can save 5K miles over delta and have availability virtually everyday of the year.

Will UA respond?

I hope the changes also mean delta will eliminate the blackout dates on KE.

this will suck if it is true. Hopefully Delta's partner award will stay at the same level.

That would be expected given DL management.

PEK to ROR was 20000 miles a few days ago.
now it is 45000 miles.

DAMN delta.

it was only a few months ago when they advertised in Japan that return-flight from Tokyo to Guam/Saipan was 20000 miles... i feel sorry for those who believed it. (me included.)

Pretty crappy if Delta pulls a stunt like that...if you are going to finally publish a award chart you just can't raise all the rates for awards that were not published...seems like it would be a marketing nightmare for them...if they raise rates it makes them look like they were hiding something the whole time

But that is exactly what they were doing!

Sometimes, I think the Flyertalk Delta page exists simply to prove that "[Delta] can fool some of the people some of the time, but [Delta] can't fool all of the people all of the time." But, I suppose for all the bad will engendered here after sneaky moves doesn't hurt their bottom line.
