Photo Trip Report: Godiva, Neuhaus, LH/KA C, CX Wing & SAS Lounge

I went to Belgium for a business meeting three weeks ago, and wanted to do write a trip report. My routings were:

PEK-FRA-BRU-FRA-HKG on LH, and HKG-PEK on Air China.

LH flights were in C and CA was going to be in Y. I had to stop in HKG for a few hours for another meeting before headed back to PEK where I am currently based on a three-year assignment. In the end, I never made it to CA Y, instead I switched to KA for an earlier flight (More on this later)

As it turned out, I got swamped for various business and personal commitments since I returned from Brussels and couldn’t find time around writing a trip report. I did take a few photos on my trips, so here the photos and simple write-up:

LH PEK-FRA on 744

The food and beverage services were above average. IMHO, the quality of LH food is better on Euro-Asia flights than transatlantic flights. The FA also seem younger and have more energy than the flights I have experienced on transatlantic route.

After I landed in HK, I rushed to the city for a two-hour meeting and then returned to the airport for my KA flight back to PEK. I was tired and sweaty. I wished I could have a shower at the airport lounge, but unfortunately I have no status on Oneworld.

At the check-in counter, I saw a long economy line while the business class line was fairly empty. I thought I should tried my luck with my expired AA Gold card to see if could use the business check-in counter. It worked, and to my surprise, I even scored an upgrade to KA’s business class!! I was told that Y was full and I was op-ug, and the agent thanked my business. I think I had a full-fare Y ticket did the trick.

Armed with a business class boarding pass, I was able to access CX’s Wing club……and took a shower!!

Loved all the photos

Thanks for sharing. Quick question please regarding LH C. Did you find yourself "slipping down" the seat as others have mentioned?

I prefer the 180 degree flat seat, and I did find myself slipping donw. However, I found a lounge chair position that suited my body better and I managed to get three hours of sleep on the outbound and at least four hours of sleep on the inbound.

Great report UA_Flyer.

Those LH meals look really nice if just a bit minimal in serving size.
