Wine List

Champagne

Taittinger Comtes De Champagne Blanc De Blancs
Champagne Taittinger began in the early 1930s, Pierre Taittingers flair for aesthetic elegance and an entrepreneurial vision helping to establish it rapidly as a fine producer of Champagne. With vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, Cote des Blancs and the Aube, Champagne Taittinger continues to embody the precise balance of power and drive softened with elegance and finesse.

Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill
Founded in 1849 by Pol Roger this esteemed Champagne house has always been highly regarded for the elegance, consistency and finesse it achieves across the range of cuvees it produces. With vineyards across many of the premium areas of Champagne this house has the ability to source the perfect grapes for the perfect cuvee. Maurice, the son of Pol had a particular love for the richness of the Pinot Noir grape, this was a passion he shared with Sir Winston Churchill a well-known devotee of the house.

Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame
The innovative and visionary talent of Mme Clicquot herself has made this Champagne label one of the most recognised and successful of the region. Her determination to share her wine with new markets enabled her to first ship the 1811 vintage to the Imperial court in St Petersburg. A little over 200 years later the house of Veuve Clicquot has many strong relationships with growers and vineyard owners all over Champagne.

Veuve Cliquot 2006 La Grande Dame, Champagne, France
Great vintage wines from this house have a dominance of full rich Pinot Noir grapes, the Prestige Cuvee of La Grande Dame seeks more finesse and restraint from a higher percentage of Chardonnay. Complexity, bright acidity and richer in style than previous years it shows stone fruit intertwined with layers of toast and nougat. Undeniable pedigree is revealed in its length and persistence of flavour.

White

Kilikanoon Mort's Reserve Riesling 2013, Clare Valley, South Australia
A blend of small vineyards incorporating elevation and low yields, it is easy to understand how this wine made the "asset collection". Orange rind and citrus blossom jump from the glass, while also showing some signs of development; toast, grilled nuts and an almond like complexity. The palate delivers classic Australian Riesling flavours, pure lime juice and racy acidity, leaving you thirsty for more!

Brokenwood Forest Edge Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Orange, New South Wales
Established in 1970 as a weekend venture, Brokenwood has evolved into one of Australia's reputable labels. This single vineyard wine is produced in an attractively restrained style. Apple blossom and green pear introduce a mix of flint and minerals that keep you going back for more, delightfully textured, while still retaining some prickly acidity.

Marchand & Burch Chardonnay 2015, Great Southern, Western Australia
This label began in 2007 with the partnership of Pascal Marchand and Jeff Burch who, while not certified, applied biodynamic practises in the vineyard. Apple blossom and stone fruit float from the glass as this wine asks that you discover it. Restrained and poised with class, subtle savoury elements are cleverly woven around a crisp core and taut acid.

Red

Levantine Hill Estate Pinot Noir 2014, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Hand harvested in small parcels, hand sorted and hand plunged, this wine is nurtured from vine to bottle. The aromas of ripe, dark maraschino cherries shine through with a touch of stewed strawberry while secondary oak characters support with mocha, chocolate and baking spices. The palate delivers generous fruit character with a soft and unctuous mouthfeel.

Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier 2015, Canberra District, New South Wales
An alluring and exciting wine from the Canberra district. This seduces with small dark crushed berries, lifted spices of pepper and clover. Tim Kirk has created a perfect illustration of Shiraz Viognier showing that elegance does not need to compromise power and length. The fine grained tannins are immaculate and add to the depth and persistence of the wine.

Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Margaret River, Western Australia
A single vineyard wine that has evolved over more than 40 years, this vintage proudly displays the opulence of the region. Appearing bright crimson, the nose is restrained yet, complex with red and black berries along with fine savoury elements of smoke, bay and cedar. The palate shows classic cassis with hints of juniper; has fine, tight tannins and structural finesse.

Dessert

Lillypilly Noble Blend 2015, Riverina, New South Wales
This is one stunningly aromatic dessert wine with tropical fruits and glorious fresh vital passionfruit, lychees and pineapple. This wine is a lighter style with lively acidity supporting the fruit characters. Sweet but balanced and seamless in delivery. Will have you wanting more.

Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling 2014, Clare Valley, South Australia
From the classical "home" of Australian Riesling, the Hanlin Hill vineyard is situated at one of the highest altitudes in Clare Valley. Crafted over many years this vintage expresses typical lemon freshness and acid that is softened by gentle aromatics of jasmine and lime marmalade. Lifted mouthfeel and mineral aspects create a refreshing finish.

Silkwood Estate The Walcott Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Pemberton, West Australia
Silkwood Estate is a boutique winery devoted to producing contemporary wines located in the Pemberton wine region in the south west of Western Australia. This wine presents pale straw with a hint of green. The bouquet displays citrus, passionfruit and thyme with hints of frangipani. A lively palate follows with layered elements of tropical fruits, dried herbs and spices, finishing crisp.

Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz 2012, Canberra District, New South Wales
Clonakilla is Australia's most celebrated name in Shiraz Viognier and O'Riada is it's blend from four vineyards around the district of Murrumbateman, just north of Canberra. "A celebration of spice" proclaims the bottle and it certainly delivers. Laced with white pepper, potpourri, curry and exotic spices of all kinds. It's tangy, crunchy, harmonious, textural and delicious.

Flametree S.R.S Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Margaret River, Western Australia
This is the fifth S.R.S. Cabernet Sauvignon released from Flametree Wines. This is a classic Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon produced from a fantastic Margaret River vintage. It shows all the perfume and structure that make Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon wines so famous. Lifted blackberries, mulberry, plums, earth and dark chocolate dominate the nose and palate at this early stage.

Wine List

Champagne

Oakridge 864, Funder and Diamond Chardonnay 2013, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Crafted using traditional methods and local knowledge built over 30 vintages, this wine is impressive and highly intriguing. The nose has a "wow" factor of guns smoke, flint and grilled nuts with underlying ripe peach and mandarin. The palate is a paradox of vibrant weight and layers of flavour and texture that will remain in mind long after the glass is finished.

Red

Levantine Hill Estate Pinot Noir 2013, Yarra Valley, Victoria
The Levantine Hill project in the Yarra Velley has begin with aspirations to the highest standard and achieving quality without any compromise. The 2013 Pinot Noir shows this precision and pedigree. Dark forest fruits of plum and cherry mix with wild strawberries and complex spices. Classy oak is apparent but not dominating, fine tannin and cleansing acidity make for a delicious wine.

Shaw + Smith Balhannah Vineyard Shiraz 2014, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
Envisaged over a long lunch, the intention of creating refined cool climate wines has very much been achieved at Shaw + Smith. Nestled close to Hahndorf, the 46 hectare Balhannah vineyard sits at an altitude of 420 metres. Producing shiraz in this vintage that is deep ruby in colour with hints of dark fruits, black pepper, spice and liquorice aromas. The wine is elegant, medium bodied with great shape and mouthfeel.

Yeringberg Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Yarra Valley, Victoria
A classic Cabernet Sauvignon from a winery that delivers the goods year in year out. This is another shining example of the grace, sophistication and elegance that the Yarra Valley is known for. Pristine red and black fruits with cigar box notes and a meaty complexity. The palate is fine boned, long and lingering.

Oakridge 864, Chardonnay 2014, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Oakridge wines have gone through something of a renaissance in recent years with David Bicknell at the helm. Super smart and complex smelling with deep lemon-grapefruit fruit and white nectarine with match-strike adding complexity. This wine attacks with zesty peel intensity, gets chewy, stone fruit kernel flavours, deep with fine smoky oak. 864, is the street number of the winery.

Heirloom A'Lambra Shiraz 2015, Eden Valley, South Australia
A lovely lifted and fragrant style of Australian Shiraz, from a region that often delivers more spice than other parts of the country. The grapes are sourced from old vines and deliver red and blue fruits that are perfectly ripe, making for a medium bodied wine that's silky and full of class. There are some fine grained tannins adding a nice shape on the palate and a length that lingers.

Flametree S.R.S. Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Margaret River, Western Australia

Wine List

Champagne
