Sas a340 cph-bru
I was suprice today when I sat in the Lounge and saw the A340 arriving at BRU airport. Look up at the SK timetable and according to the flight it should be a MD80, and the flight wasnt that full neither so all the pax will have a fun flight to Copenhagen .
Wish I could be in this flight instead of a Jumpolino Fokker Hopper (AVJ85) to Oslo :[ later. The new SN lounge is only open MON-FRI ; so stuck in this old SN lounge .......

Looks like it was LN-RKF. It has been rotating on assorted european short-haul lines the last weekend (LHR,BRU,MXP etc) (see the link).
Also, it looks like all 7 A340:s are active now. Maybe they are putting them on some shorthual routes just to give them some air hours and see that everything is in good working order.

Indeed, what a waste to send them on the short trips:

Still, I remember flying CPH-LHR with another A340, OY-KBA, back in November 2007. It was a very nice surprise and since this was during the Dash-debacle they even provided catering in M! Sweet memories...

Nothing illegal there. Pretty much the same like long-stored cars - you put them through the service check and they fine and can pass annual inspection easily, but you can be sure something will start to leak soon. The only way around it is to go through a complete overhaul which is way too expensive. What is done instead is do what is reasonable and then try and see for the rest. Roughly speaking same is applied to aircraft, do what is legally required and see what happends after.

When the A330s launched, I think in late 2002, they were operating them on CPH-ARN for test runs. I took one of those flights and snagged a C seat. I think they allowed open seating because of the load. Nevertheless, I noticed an older couple who looked very unnerved and muttered something about they were probably not supposed to be there and hurried toward the back.
