SAS Fare bucket W - equivalent on TK?
Hi
I am booked on SAS 3423 (IST-HEL) next week - this is a codeshare operated by TK. The fare bucket for SAS is W - does anyone know what bucket this translates to on TK? Hopefully I will be able to collect my AC miles but I don't see a fare bucket W listed for mileage accumulation on TK.

There's no easy translation table to see which fare class it gets mapped to. If it's a cheap ticket, it may very well be booked in TK W class, which doesn't earn miles on Aeroplan.
If you call TK, they should be able to tell you which fare class they're seeing in their system.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that W-class will not give any points, not on EB anyway, at all on TK.

Thanks - I guess I will just have to wait and see. SK W class gives 100% miles on Aeroplan as distinct from U, K, L, G, T, O which give only 50% so I am hopeful I will get at least something from TK. I wish *A would rationalise their fare buckets across the alliance

Isn't that the metal that counts for collecting miles with *A?
TK W will give you nothing for Aeroplan, since the actual aircraft is TK not SK.
Earn miles when you purchase an eligible booking class and travel on flights operated by Turkish Airlines. Some exceptions may apply.

At http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/26650096-post2.html YYT82 suggests that it will translate to one of the 70% buckets on TK
So now it's "wait and see" for me

If you don't trust their answer now, how can you trust that they will credit the flight correctly once you have taken it?
