Just be aware that TD has a notorious reputation in the "Hot Deal" community for not honoring their rebates. This reputation was earned a decade ago, so I'm honestly not sure how reliable it is today.

Then I should be able to protest the charge as the product/deal was not as advertised, right?

It usually takes longer than 2 billing cycles to process the rebate.

They are very reliable now. I've done a few FARs with TD in the past year and I've always gotten the rebate within about 1 month.

Thanks for this comment. This is my first time dealing with them for FAR. I've purchased items in the past as I needed them but not strictly for the miles. (Oh the shame)

Don't see the rebate on the headhpone splitter on the product page? Is it elsewhere? or expired?

EDIT: Found the rebate in the rebate center - was for purchases on 10/8 only.

I had the worst experience with TD rebates.

Last thanksgiving, they advertized 120 gb SSD and CA online backup combo with rebates for CA online backup of $ 50 each, which was actually priced at $19.99.

TD Rebate Assurance program is a joke. Essentially it is a post office where they forward your complaint to the rebate center.

It took me 8 months, complaint to the Attorney General Office and to their corporate office to finally get the rebate back.

I avoid TD after this for any kind of rebates.

In 2009, the Florida AG filed suit against Tiger Direct for not honoring rebates until the customer complained. The suit was dismissed after being settled, but TD seems to be continuing what they were doing before.

I have done these a few times in the last year, and I always get the rebate within 6 weeks. Just have to read and follow the rebate instructions to the word.
