American with a Russian visa transiting Moscow?
I have a 7 hour layover in SVO in a few weeks time, on the way to MAD. Will I need to clear immigration? My visa is 3 years, multiple entry. I'm a bit worried about the current situation and possible suspension of diplomatic relations and how it will affect my travel. Anyone with any experience in this area?

You can transit SVO without clearing immigration.
BTW I don't think that the current political situation will lead to the consequences you mentioned, but obviously YMMW
