App to find entrance of building
I am a developer for a new android app that tries to find the entrance of a building using Google Maps and StreetView. It's not a nav app. Just a tool that suggests the best drop-off points around a building.
We are trying to build a ridesharing platform to help solve technical problems affecting drivers. This is the start.
If you are interested, we are currently looking for beta testers.

The dropoffmap platform uses the shape of a building and nearby roads to estimate the best drop-off points. We can do this for any address, including a house, park, mall, etc. Even an intersection. StreetView is used to show a picture at each point.
We're also working on adding the designated ridesharing drop-off/pick-up zones for an address, such as those at Las Vegas Hotels or stadiums.

Dropoffmap is a FREE app that gets you better directions because we take you right to the front of your destination. We even show you StreetView pictures before you get there.

Tried it, doesn't show a good dropoff point for the building I entered, and no way to provide a correction. Seems like crowdsourcing would make a lot of sense here...

Oops...in some cases, we might miss an entrance by a few steps. Hopefully, we put you into the front.
In order, to correct this, you can move the pegman that is shown on the map by clicking the link arrows "<" & ">" within the StreetView picture and voting "Yes". Unfortunately, this feature is pretty hidden. So we will work to make this more obvious.
We agree on the crowdsourcing. We plan on using crowdsourcing data to improve the quality of our suggestions, along with allowing drivers to enter drop-off and pickup zones.

Sometimes, this approach can lead to dropping off a passenger several meters away from an entrance or in the back of a decent size building. Or even worse, having you drive around the block trying to find a place the passenger wants to be dropped off at.
Below is an example of Google Directions taking you to an alley for the given address:
The 5th Avenue Theatre,
1308 5th Ave,
Seattle, WA 98101
There are several of these types of examples, where the Dropoffmap app can help.
And the app is free and doesn't require sign-up of any kind. It only takes 10-30 seconds to perform a search and get back suggested points with StreetView pictures.
If we can't help you after the first few points, we direct you back to your favorite Nav app, anyways.
So you really don't lose much by trying.
