Stopover in Egypt for religious jew - safe?

I'm trying to book a round-trip flight MAN-TLV and the cheapest I can find for the dates I need is $630, but it is with a overnight stop in Cairo (8pm until 8am) - Egyptair between MAN and CAI, and Air Sinai between CAI and TLV. Would find hotel for overnight stay. (The next flight is $760.)

Is this advised for a religious jew? and maybe some sightseeing?

All that to save $130 (and then you've got CAI hotel and taxi costs)? Or am I missing something here? And you're not going to do much sightseeing between 2000-0800.....

But if you do make the stopover then lots to see and do for a day or two. No more risky for someone frum than anyone else, IMHO, assuming you look "normal" - if you've got the Shemoneh Begodim then that might be different ;-)

Just keep you head down - so perhaps don't go on a day when we're not saying Tachanun? ;-)

Why are you bumping this? Are you also considering this for a saving of $130 despite having to pay for a hotel?

So, I did this no problem. I wanted to see Cairo, So I even paid a bit more, and stayed in the Hilton Ramses, 10k points a night, but I hired a driver and guide to take me from airport to hotel, hotel to Pyramids light show, back to hotel, next day to Pyramids inside, then to Egyptian museum, and the synagogue Ben Ezra (coptic Cairo), then to airport. A total of around 30 hours in Cairo, arriving from TLV with Air Sinai, continuing to London with Egyptair, bookable on one ticket, using Expedia and other OTAs.

I used EMO Tours Egypt, highly rated on trip Advisor, and good price, and flexible according to what I wanted, (not according to their convenience, like some other companies I emailed).

Can you share how much you paid for the tour? Any issues walking around with a kippa?
