Shabbat in Madrid/ Toledo

Hi All,
A friend and I are arriving in Madrid for a long weekend (Thurs-Sunday evening). We are Shomer Shabbat and haven't spent time in Spain except for a long stopover in Madrid.

We like wandering in interesting areas, sipping coffee, people watching, as well as sight-seeing and museum-going. We hoped to stay in just one place for all three nights, but perhaps Toledo is more interesting than Madrid? or has more to do on Shabbat?

Thus we have two broad questions:

1. Is there enough to keep us happy/busy if we stay in Madrid the whole time? Even on Shabbat?

2. Is a trip to Toledo recommended? And if so, when -- Overnight Thurs; Day trip Sunday; Friday and Saturday nights with Madrid just Sunday?

Please share your advice!
Thanks!!!!

Shabbat in Madrid/ Toledo

Id recommend a trip to Toledo - day trip probably. Lots to see there in terms of old synagogues and history.

Madrid is a great city to walk around.
