just finished TLV-MAD-JFK in C on IB.
TLV -MAD was Masbiah I think (or whatever the standard kosher meal is), I think it matched pretty well whatever they served everyone else in C.
C in MAD - JFK was pathetic, as mentioned earlier when I asked it was long life chicken type dish. Maybe IB doesn't get that many kosher passengers but on such a great product I think they should make the extra effort to supply a better meal.

LHR-ATH Aegean C. Long life Stogel... Shocking... Why is anyone stocking long life in LHR? Shocking... Went straight to the bin this time. I have been able to eat long life Stogel (while in Asia). This time the Stogel meal was no where near as edible. Other than the veggies everything was like bark.
I gave the FA Hermolis contact details... very sad day flying out of LHR.
I should get a stack of Hermolis business cards... hand them out each time airlines serve crap.

Just had a week or so with some interesting flights, thought I'd summarise the KSMLs (will upload pictures if I get a chance)...
TLV-ATH Aegean Airlines, 1.5 hours, economy class - longlife cold snack from French supplier under Manchester Beth Din. Quite acceptable - crackers/jam/compote/cereal bar/halva (more food than others got) - 7/10
ATH-SIN Singapore Airlines, 11 hours, business class - longlife main meal, snack and breakfast from Stogel. Appalling, especially as SQ messed up the only edible bit (chicken hot meal) as they unsealed it before heating. Quite annoyed at SQ, as I had written in advance to ask if they served long-life or frozen meals from Athens, they confirmed it was NOT longlife (otherwise I would have ordered fruit and taken sandwiches). I asked them to double-check, and they confirmed again. Would give it 2/10, as I think SQ could have sourced something better from Europe.
SIN-SYD - Singapore Airlines, 8.5 hours, first class - frozen hot breakfast and cold snack from Hermolis. Not very appetising, only good part was the cold part of breakfast (assorted cheeses, bagel, salmon, croissant, yoghurt etc. It was a C class meal (exactly same meal as I got on return in C). Snack was cold salmon on pasta salad, with cake and chocolate mousse but it wasn't tasty (and I like fish normally). Would give it 5/10
SYD-PER - Qantas, 5 hours, economy - fresh (not frozen) hot lunch from Lewis in Sydney. Excellent! Really tasty, one of the best airline meals I have had (especially as it is prepared fresh the day before). Was plated on regular QF tableware, and contained more food than regular meals. Fruit to start, main course of chicken breast in tomato sauce with veg and potatoes, then moist honey cake, nougat and assorted biscuits, and corn thins. Lewis have made a big effort to improve QF kosher meals recently. Meal included written menu. Would give it 10/10.
PER-SYD - Qantas, 5 hours, economy - frozen meal from Aviv catering in Perth. Quite good (to be honest I didn't get it this time as I was upgraded and put on earlier flight, but have had in the past and it's quite good) - 7/10.
SYD-SIN - Singapre Airlines, 8 hours, business - frozen meal from Lewis. Tons of food - 2 main meals, each meal had 2 hot main courses - one was beef and chicken dishes, another fish and chicken, plus each meal had 2 portions of fruit, a salad, corn thins, cake, nougat, biscuits etc. Huge amount of food for 8 hours, quality was quite good though not as good as SYD-PER (as that was fresh). This was definiltely a business clas meal. Each meal included written menu. Would give it 8/10.
SIN-ATH - Singapore Airlines, 11.5 hours, business class - frozen meal from Hermolis in London. Hot Dinner and Hot Breakfast. Exactly the same as SIN-SYD above, with the addition of a hot meal which I found inedbile - poached sole and salmon, with veg/potato in a separate casserole. SQ serve a lot of salmon in kosher meals - breakfast had smoked salmon, main meal had cold salmon as starter and hot salmon and sole as main meal. Would give it 5/10 again
ATH-TLV - El Al, 1.5 hours, economy class - fresh hot toasted sandwich from Tamam in Israel, choice of chicken or tuna. Excellent, really tasty. Would give it 10/10 !.
So some surprising results. Not impressed with KSML on SQ, Lewis has improved a lot, and El Al is the best!

KSML on SQ
I am flying business class on SQ MNL-SIN and I noticed they have 2 kosher option. a regular KSML, and a Vegitarian Kosher meal. I ordered the regular one, but does anyone know if either one is better caterer? I would take vegetarian if it were a better tasting meal....
Thanks.
Thanks.
