Your chances are slim to none. QR will not be operating a 388 into JFK as Terminal 8 does not have the facilities to handle the aircraft.

I'll speculate two things:

1. They receive two (or maybe 3, as there are 3 ready now at Airbus) together and put them into service early.

or

2. More delays

Or maybe they fixed a cinema, bowling alley, and gym just to beat Etihad's Apartments?

They need too many planes to operate a daily A380 to JFK. Note that DOH-JFK flight time is alone 13hrs + and turn around of 2-3 hrs each way.

From the current DOH-LHR and DOH-CDH times, 2 aircraft are needed full time to service those routes. So they need 2 additional to operate just JFK route on a daily basis. JFK is obviously the most obvious choice, but AAB had some concerns regarding the ultra long haul fuel consumptions of A380 and would like to study it properly before using them. But that guy's words are not to be taken seriously We will have to wait until QR gets a third/fourth A380 to see where they would be used. Apart from JFK what are its other options? FRA may be? SIN? HKG? JNB?
