SIN-DPS discontinued?

QR has flown their 777 between Singapore and Denpasar Bali. I am attempting to buy tickets for this flight in October. ITA gives me a schedule, flight numbers and prices. But when I try to book via the QR website or a travel agent, the flights cannot be found.

I'd be grateful if you could help me. Do these direct 5th freedom flights still exist?

The dates I'm looking for are 20th Oct SIN-DPS and 24th Oct DPS-SIN.

Found the answer – they will indeed stop the flights in July this year.

Instead, they will fly directly from Doha to Bali.

Factoid: SIN<>DPS is one of QR's largest O&D pairs by volume.

Living in Singapore this isn't good news - was a nice little route for me.

At the same time, there is a rate of 185 for the flight from Singapore to Bali and this could be a good tier point run?!!!

Are they doing this just for the sake of doing it or is there really a market for this route?? Will be interesting to see if it is profitable over the coming months once it starts.

I don't think there is demand for it daily but with a B787, it could be profitable? Anyway, Sin-Bali always have discounted fares and easy deals promotion. Maybe light on load.

I fly this route approximately 3-4 times a year in business class. The SIN-DPS-SIN legs are often very empty in business class (maybe 25% load max) but the flight appears better supported in economy.

I have mixed feelings about the change. I am flying in June on the existing routing via Singapore and then next in September/October. I have checked these flights out and they are showing the A330 which I am not too thrilled about for a 10 hour flight. May have to use another carrier for those flights.

The 787 sounds great from October onwards.

That's a lot of running. The ~SGD185 fare is only 10 TPs one way.

Nothing quite as cheap as QR - even LCCs. I took this twice in the last 2 years... Loved it. Gate to gate AVOD. And prices kept going down. Two years ago it was SGD240 on sale. Now SGD185 on normal days.

The only other cheap carrier on this route is AF.

Not Sin-DOH-Bali? Since it's no longer a direct flight?

I feel quite sad to see this route go, as I fly it often.

Anyone notice they refer to him as His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker? What's next? King Akbar Al Baker? He does seem to whine to the media about how everyone but himself is a liar whenever Qatar's working conditions are questioned.
