Air China - JFK to NRT via PEK $2100 Biz (Z)

I found a (possibly) decent price for a NYC to Tokyo flight on Air China, for various dates in November and December 2017. Books into the Z fare class. Has a stop in Beijing for about three hours.

According to Google Flights, the fare is bookable via Expedia: https://www.google.com/flights/?f=0&...eo=e;q=sfo+hkg

The fare also doesn't show up right away, so it's easy to miss when scrolling through the fare calendar.

Should change the title to Air China. There are two different airlines.. Air China (mainland China based) and China Airlines (Taiwan based). A majority of people would prefer China Airlines over Air China.

Very true.

I just started to request that a mod change the thread title, but it's been done.

Outbound departure time is a bit rough; although I think this is designed to help for same day connection to NRT. There is another flight from JFK arriving at PEK around evening time, which require an overnight stay.

Price is good and you would get to be on a different plane for each segment.

For those not in a rush or not used to 2am flights, US$2028 all in after $1 Expedia "discount," for the 16:50 JFK departure with an overnite in PEK and leave at 9:10am the next day for arrival into NRT at 13:40.

125% earnings in OZ.

Hi -

tickets have to be purchased by August 31. $300 change fee. For an extra $300 your can ticket to MNL, or $500 to SIN. The SIN flight is also lie-flat.

A few years ago there were some critical reviews of the CA J and F soft product. Has this improved?

Hi -

If you are on the 777 or the A330, you get a flat bed seat. Food is OK, nothing great. IFE is 3/4 Chinese, but there is enough for you to watch.

Has anyone been quoted at a lower price via AmEx IAP? I noticed that CA is a listed partner here
