LAX-AMS-MAD in April $1514. Adding an overnight (but less than 24 hour) stop in AMS actually brought the price down.

Yes, I see that too. Even routing LAX-JFK-MAD is around the same price and that will get you on DL's transcon Business Elite product for the domestic portion.

So in true airline fashion:

LAX-JFK is $2215, but
LAX-JFK-MAD is only $1516.

Haha that's awesome. Clear reflection of costs...

Just an update, the sale is still going on in FL too from GNV, JAX, and FLL

I can't get it less than $1600 - can you please post a sample itinerary?

SJC is $1800+

As I've highlighted, the majority of this fare is the YR. If anyone can suggest to me how to trim some of that fat, I'd be super grateful.

FYI for anyone trying to do a long stop in AMS on the way out in May possibly later. Only 1 flight AMS-MAD meets the time requirement next day. Right now that flight is unbookable due to possible schedule change. So i booked ours at the end of April, and it went through fine.

Flight 1: Los Angeles - Amsterdam
Fri 24 Apr 15
Flight 2: Amsterdam - Madrid
Sun 26 Apr 15
Flight 3: Madrid - Paris
Fri 8 May 15
Flight 4: Paris - Los Angeles
Sat 9 May 15

$1481.62

I see PHL-BCN for $1563.90 towards end of July, routing through JFK or ATL on AF, KL, or DL. Awesome east coast fares finally!

If you need help getting the flights booked, you can call or email me. I am a Virtuoso travel advisor (message me and I will give you the information to get a hold of me) and can book them using our air desk. I have been booking these fares for clients for the past few days. I can put it on hold for 3 days so you have a chance to double check it before we ticket it. The fine print: this isn't what I traditionally do, the land portion is our specialty. I do have a nominal fee for an air fare booking.
