Refrigerator as checked luggage?

Flying from Perth to Bangkok and looking to bring a compressor-cooled wine fridge with me. Anybody have any ideas on if this will be allowed? TG doesn't respond to inquiries.

Size is an issue, but lets set that aside.
Fragility of the fridge is an issue, but if I pack it right it might work.
Compressor-held coolant might be an issue? Should I drain it first?

Any thoughts welcome.

The refrigerant gas (R134a or what ever) could be an issue. It is held under pressure in the system. Some modern refrigerants are flammable. This will need careful checking. Ask TG. If you decant the refrigerant the refrigerator may never be the same again.
Sea freight will be OK. 100's of thousands of refrigerators are shipped by sea.

Compressed gas, I very much doubt it would be legal.

TG's baggage information page notes:

Dangerous Goods or Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) are items or articles or substances which are capable of posing a risk to health, safety, property or the environment and classified as following:
1. Explosives
2. Gases
3. Flammable Liquids
4. Flammable Solids
5. Oxidizing substances and Organic Peroxides
6. Toxic and Infectious Substances
7. Radioactive Material
8. Corrosives
9. Miscellaneous Dangerous substances and articles, including environmentally hazardous substances

For your safety, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) not allow to carriage these dangerous goods as checked baggage, carry-on baggage and on one’s person on all THAI flights except as listed in the table below...

Looking through the table of exceptions, it doesn't appear that any of them would fit your situation.
