TSA Pre Metal Detector - Monkstrap shoes - do you take them off?

I've been meaning to buy a pair of monkstrap shoes. I like the combination of brogue + wingtip on a slip-on/loafer type form factor and absolutely do not want to deal with the untie, take-off, slipon, tie drill as I go through security.

So my question to Monkstrap shoe wearers, does it beep when you go through the metal detector? Do you have it take it off?

Appreciate an answer to the question posed, not looking to be convinced how little time it takes to take-off shoes or switch to other styles.

Without PreCheck you'll have to remove them.

I have several pairs of monkstraps, including a pair of double monks. Never had to take them off in the PreCheck line.
