Airport scanner

Women who are menstruating will be wearing sanitary pads. Will that create a problem while passing through the scanner? What has been the experience of such women?

That is a rather large assumption. Many women I know wear tampons.

I haven't read of any such incidents, though I was expecting them.

Older people of either gender may wear adult diapers or similar pads and there have been a few cases of "strip searches" involving those reported, and shown on YouTube.

Perhaps the "Eeewww" factor has largely deterred this risk.

This has never been a problem for me. Haven't tried it through a lot of airports like this, but those that I have been in have never been a problem.
