Pat Down vs Custody Search

They point out that the pat-down or enhanced pat-down is now really more on the lines of a custody search. Curious to know what other folks think about forcing a terminology change and using custody search instead?

I should add the previous searching were more akin to a Terry Stop Search. The new searches are more akin to a custody search.

As I understand it, a TSO has no authority to detain you, i.e. take you into custody. So how can a TSO legally perform a custody search?
