[GOL Smiles] Brazil-Portugal (or reverse) Award Deal
GOL Smiles seem to have some super cheap award tickets, 15,000 miles for a one-way award from Brazil to Portugal, 30,000 miles for a return award in business class, according to this Brazilian blog (use Google Translate / Google Chrome to translate if necessary):
http://passageirodeprimeira.com/inac...sse-executiva/
I couldn't reproduce this. There are, however, some tickets for 35,000 (oneway) / 70,000 miles (return) available:
https://www.smiles.com.br/passagens-...en=0&infants=0
If you don't have any GOL Smiles miles, 1 mile should be 0.07 BRL, so 30,000 miles should set you back about 560 EUR / 640 USD.
I think you can buy up to 40,000 miles per year if I remember correctly.
From what I found online, you cannot sign up for GOL Smiles through their main website without a valid Brazilian social security or passport number.
However, if you find a good deal in the search form I linked to, you are supposed to be able to click "Continue" and choose "Not a member yet" (or something similar), and then they would let you sign up without that.
I haven't verified that though.
Hope this will be useful for someone.
Good hunting!
