Spirit Airlines Announces Service Between DFW and PDX (Portland, OR)
"Spirit Airlines today announced new service to its 15th nonstop destination from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Starting June 21, 2012, Spirit will offer its ultra low fare service on one daily nonstop flight between Dallas/Fort Worth and Portland, Oregon"

Very nice. It will get more tougher competition against AA out of DFW. I believe those route should be done extremely very well. Why leave at 11pm from DFW?

Wow. What a horrible schedule. Can't imagine AA is quaking in its boots over this one. Wonder if this is the first ever red-eye between PDX and DFW? AA doesn't have a red-eye now...not sure if they've ever flown one in the past. It's on the short side of what makes for a good red-eye segment.
I know CO/UAL offers a red-eye from PDX-IAH but that's part of a full set of flights with many connecting options in IAH. It's not clear whether Spirit will offer any connections in DFW from the PDX flight. And a once-a-day flight that arrives and leaves PDX after midnight isn't going to appeal to many leisure travelers except those get lured in by Spirit's marketing about their low fares [not counting convenience charges/carry-on baggage charges/fuel surcharges/seat selection charges, etc].
