Air Europa "Lite" Fares -- Luggage Question
Hi All,
I've never flow Air Europa before, and I am thinking about booking a ticket from BCN-GRX. I want to book the "lite" fare, which only includes 1 piece of hand luggage and no checked bags. I am a SkyTeam Elite Plus member, and I was wondering I'm entitled to a free checked bag on this fare.
If anyone has any insight or can help me, I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

I just figured out that a SkyTeam Elite Plus passenger receives a free checked bag. During the checkout process, the part about luggage offers me an option to select one additional bag for free.
My hope, of course, is that the airport counter honors it!

No lounge access
Last week Air Europa denied lounge access at MAD Airport stating that Skyteam Elite Plus members only may enter if booked on an international flight. My flight was a light fare MAD VLC as a seperate booking, not as a leg from incoming international flight. This is a new Air Europa rule.

Indeed - Skyteam has always had a requirement that there be an international Skyteam flight on the same day in order to get access on a purely domestic flight.
any airline is free to set a more lenient lounge access policy for its own frequent flyers - but not for all Skyteam Elites - and UX abandoned this more lenient policy for its own elites many, many years ago

How do Elite+ members fare on Air Europa's Lite fares when it comes to seat assignments? Can we reserve in advance or do we still have to pay? What about checking a bag for free? The website is unclear on both points.
