IcelandAir WiFi works well, inexpensive with Google Project Fi
I flew from DEN-KEF in a WiFi enabled plane on Nov 6th. I didn't need to use it but when I launched my phone's browser and found out WiFi was only €7 for the 7 hour flight I figured, 'Why not!?'.
The speed was 3G. I could browse Facebook, Twitter, etc without any issues. I currently use Goggle's Project Fi service (Fi.Google.com) and it was awesome. I was able to send/receive text messages and even made a phone call (granted the lag was brutal and it didn't work the best...i wouldn't plan on using it for an important phone call, but cool none the less).
I will probably buy it again on my way back to Denver later this week.
