Air Asia Website Not Working

Their new website won't allow you to make a booking (programming errors).

Doesn't give you much confidence, does it?

I was trying to make a booking, but seeing as I couldn't I have found other alternatives.

This "airline" is a disgrace. Don't waste your money with it.

So you've decided to give AirAsia a second chance now by attempting a booking? Lol

I think Air Asia is one of the better LCCs out there. Have you tried some of the European ones?

I've booked many tickets on their website over the years. Never had a problem. The OP seems a bit reactionary.

Yes, Jaimito, I may well be "reactionary" (have you checked that word in a dictionary?), but you don't seem to have noticed it's a new website they've got (which doesn't work at the moment).

I agree that the old website was pretty well bulletproof (the old story of fixing something that isn't broken).

And as for me trying to make another booking with AirAsia (mea culpa), I'd made another SGN-SFO-SGN booking on UA (all upgraded) and needed to get a flight from Australia to SGN. However, AirAsia have stuffed me around to such an extent, I will be booking elsewhere (I've already booked the return SGN-DRW-CBR with my QF FF points). It's their loss.

As an aside, this is the trip that gets me over the 2MM and 150,000 EQM for the year mark with UA, so it's worth doing, I think.

At least its our gain... when you're not on a flight next to me.

Haven't you heard of 'website upgrading' which some airlines go through at certain times of the day? Perhaps you're just unlucky enough to surf it when it was done. But seem to think that their website should specifically cater to your needs only.

I tried to make a simple BKK-PNH dummy booking and it
keeps hanging up on "TITLE FOR GUEST 1 MISSING".

I can go back and re-select Mr, tried Mrs,
logged in and it pre-filled out the form, same error.

Is that the same error that stopped your booking?
If so, then yes, they (and you) have a problem !

I assumed they were better than that,
but can't prove it tonight.

Well, yes, you may be right, but I've tried to make a booking on this new website for over 48 hours. And I've also phoned their reservations centre, but they couldn't help me either ("We don't make bookings for promo fares"). And I've even tried to use a third party travel agent, all to no avail.

So I think I may have a small point here. If you don't believe me, why not try and make a dummy booking yourself?

And BTW, I don't think you would know I was there if you were sitting next to me. I'm quite nice really!

Same things happened to me. Tried for two days to book CGK-BKK on their website, wasn't going to happen. Gave up, gave my money to SQ instead.

Thanks for that. Just goes to show that I'm not completely stupid as the moderator seems to imply.

I'm just totally sick of people who are sexist, ageist (I'm over 60) and shoot from the hip on this board.

I did eventually figure it out, you have to click on the tab that says Guest, and fill in that information to go to the next step.

Tested that workaround, and it didn't work for my dummy booking.
It is not really clear what was the problem symptom that others ran into.

I got curious and found other disgruntled air asia threads scattered around,
but nothing like I would expect if booking was totally broken for days.

Even found their Facebook fansite, people griping about the new webpage,
but about the "look", nothing about a completely broken booking engine.

So I am just:

So other airlines haven't had glitches when they've upgraded software? I've seen many that have. Not to excuse putting up a new booking engine, and it not being ready. The whole, AirAsia is a disgrace is just over the top.

I see that you've forgotten what we had to put through when the BMI websites for both award points and res bookings were down for more than 2 weeks!
