CA award redemption group policy
CA just launched the new award redemption group policy. The memer can nominate up to 8 persons. After the nomination, adding one nominee will cost 300 Km. The most ridiculous thing is the nomiee adding after the first nomination will need 60 days to be activated. Never see similar policy in other program. But it seems the Asian airline program is fond of such redemption group policy.

I think other FFP program also needs to deal with member selling miles. CA is just too nervous about this. Sooner or later, people will figure out the way to avoid such issues.
The problem is for those who really want to gift the mileage to his family or friends or colleagues. This policy will make things difficult.

The problem is, in other countries, you don't have that many people selling their miles.
This policy means that CA members only can use their miles for their close family members and very good friends.
One day, they will charge you 100K miles to remove one member from the list.

But the redemption group policy seems very popular in Asian countries. JAL,ANA,Asiania, KE and CX all has such policy. Does that mean Japanese, Korean and Chinese are more likely to sell mileage?
I only know a few US websites that serve as a broker for mileage trading. There is no such website in China.
