All Garuda Indonesia flights in the new CGK T3 as of May 1, 2017

It is now confirmed that all Garuda Indonesia International flights will depart from and arrive into the new T3 CGK effective May 1, 2017 joining its domestic operations which had previously moved to the new terminal back in August 2016. Garuda will now have all its flights departing out of and arriving at T3 CGK and thus making it very convenient to travel with GA into and Intra-Indonesia via CGK.

Garuda's website has the information about the move and also the flow of a passenger through its domestic and international network.

There will be 3 lounges in the International side of the terminal:

- First which is only for GA's First Class pax
- Business lounge which is designated for GA's Business Class pax, GarudaMiels Platinum, and SkyTeam Elite Plus pax
- GarudaMiles lounge which is designated only for GarudaMiles Gold and Garuda branded credit card pax

At the moment, all SkyTeam airlines will still be operating out of and into the old T2 CGK. There is a plan to move all SkyTeam airlines to T3 CGK along with Garuda in July or August of 2017. The new Automated People Mover (Skytrain) connecting the new T3 and T2 will only be completed and expected to be in operation in July 2017 with the full connection to T1 completed by the end of August 2017. Thus, connecting between the SkyTeam airlines and Garuda will still be a little messy for the next 2 months. Anyone holding a combined Garuda + other airlines ticket should still allow enough time to transfer between flights.

I will be flying through CGK on May 2 and May 4 so I will furnish some freshly taken photos here. I do hope for an improved ground experience flying with Garuda via the new terminal. The questions remain:

1. What will we see in the new Garuda International lounge?
2. How is the premium / SkyPriority service at the new terminal? I know there is also a designated premium check-in counters and premium arrival facilities at the new T3.
3. Is Garuda finally getting at least a terminal that reflects well its newly earned premium reputation?

What an exciting time!

Exciting indeed, though having transited INT-INT through the old terminal last month flying C class, I thought it was quite charming with more atmosphere than the standard international terminals around Asia, and the transfer was very easy.

Good news for convenience's sake, BUT, I really like terminal 1 & 2! The architecture of it is unique and Indonesian, not to mention that there are many half open parts (especially T1), it's refreshing to visit an airport that is different from all the other big airports around the world. Where you are not inside a glass and metal airconditioned cage.

T3 is a really big terminal though! I was pretty impressed when I first used it. Definitely something CGK needs since it's so overcrowded already. Still doesn't take away the congestion on the runway though

I just got off flight GA87 from LHR and am connecting to a flight to Denpasar. Some points:
  • Greeted off the plane and escorted through Immigration and Customs. Excellent service.
  • Transferring to a Domestic flight had us leave the baggage area, go into the main International departures area, on to the Domestic departures area and then finally through domestic security. It is a long walk but after almost 14 hours on a plane I enjoyed the exercise.
  • I saw the F checkin area in the International terminal. It's a small area but has comfy chairs.
  • I really like how open the Terminal feels. LHR T3 & T5 feels like a mad zoo in comparison and you have to watch where you go or you'll bump into people.
  • Lots of food places outside security. I think inside too but I was escorted to the domestic lounge.
  • Even though there's no F lounge in the domestic terminal, I was escorted to my seat and she came back about 5 mins later to say they'd prepared a VIP room for me.

Overall impressions? The terminal is lovely and ground First service is excellent. I've very impressed.

Hi everyone,

Greeting from the First Class lounge at T3 Ultimate Jakarta. Quickly summarised, it's a very elegant lounge with lots of different types of seating areas. It would be easy to move around and relax in different settings. It's a bit early so I'm not too hungry.

This is the view of the lounge from the back. You can see the dining area, seating area along the window as well as the piano that plays itself.

The area to the left of the entrance of the lounge has cubicles for watching TV.

There's a power socket, which are everywhere throughout the lounge. There's also a small table. Not so useful for eating but good for drinks.

There are different types of chairs. A lounging chair.

A relaxation chair

A seating area that would be good for a group

There are 2 VIP rooms. It's an interesting concept in a First Class lounge.

That is a nice looking lounge. They definitely made an effort to give everyone multiple seating options.

Yeah it's what I really like about the lounge. It adds a bit of flavour to it.

As promised, here are a few shots from the new terminal. Here is the look of the GA lounge which is accessible to Skyteam Elite Plus members as well.

Here are the sights of the general area in the new T3 (land side and air side):

Great pics, thanks @UMD! What's "opening soon", the Skytrain? Looking forward to my debut GA J next month.

Am I correct that that there are only 10 gates at the new Terminal? I saw the pictures above and checked the airport website, only gate #1-10? The terminal seems huge but 10 gates won't be enough for all GA operations?
