Infinity MileageLands vs. KrisFlyer?
I'll be looking to take my first trip with EVA from YYZ-TPE-HKG later this year, and was wondering which FFP program I should credit the miles to.
I'm not looking for status (nor will I likely achieve it), but rather a short-haul J award from HKG within the next three years. And ideally on Singapore Airlines.
I hope to achieve this with a combination of earned miles and transferred points from a credit card (I'm thinking AMEX Starwood). Is there any reason to credit my earned miles to EVA and not KrisFlyer?
Thanks in advance for any sage advice...

Yup, I've heard that too. Thanks for confirming.
I'd also very much like to hear from any Infinity MileageLands members about their experiences booking award seats on EVA and other Star Alliance airlines.
This link I found about EVA's FFP isn't particularly encouraging...

I don't have an issue redeeming BR flights whenever I want them (as a BR FFP member). On AC - so a STAR partner, I do have an issue.
Hope that helps. (I only redeem J, unsure about Y)

Sorry for the confusion. I have issues booking BR/EVA flights using the AC FFP vis a vis Aeroplan. I cannot redeem in J until T-14 days or so. This constraint is not shared with my experiences on EVA's FFP. (redeeming on BR metal in J)

I have never had any issues using BR miles on BR (unlike my home town airline).
It is a general rule though that you should expect it to be easier to use miles on the airlines' own metal, so it might not be as easy to use BR miles on SQ.
Also, check the SQ earnings table and make certain you will get full miles for the flight fare basis flown.
