MX back?

I was doing some fare browsing on itasoftware.com this weekend and noticed that MX is showing available late next week ex-MEX to the following destinations: ORD, MID, GDL and CUN (there may be more...)

mexicana.com still shows the basic page, but as many of us know who travel throughout Mexico regularly, the MX logo and check-in desk remain in place as they were last August.

Has anyone heard anything?

I do hope they come back. I enjoyed my few flights that I took with them.

Per ITA, MX has 2 scheduled flights tomorrow (6 August) ORD -> MEX. For some reason, I don't quite believe it.

Well, it will indeed be interesting. The only thing on the MX site is

"Confident that Mexicana Airlines has what it takes to begin operating again, investors have submitted a series of proposals for the capitalization of the airline, which are currently being evaluated.

The company continues developing a policy to further assist customers who purchased tickets with Mexicana and would like to utilize them for future transportation. This is in addition of what is required under applicable laws.

At Mexicana we keep working confident we will have the pleasure of serving you again.

We appreciate your understanding and will keep you informed of any new developments."

We've been here before...

last ditch effort

According to this link,

http://www.aviationweek.com/aw/gener...%20Liquidation

MX has 2 weeks to stave off liquidation. Not very encouraging...

I'm not gonna hold my breath. The whole thing has been a giant poopmess, and I anticipate them going to liquidation and AeroMexico jumping for joy.

I'll hold out some hope that LAN somehow gets in on the auction and tries to pick up some routes and assets, but doubtful as they have their hands full with their pending merger as is.

I'dd love for OW to figure out a way to add Volaris, but I know thats a dream a this point.
