Sydney late night restaurant recommendations

G'day all,

Does anyone have any good tips for late night restaurants in Sydney? I'll be making quite a few trips over from WA this year on the late Friday VA service, so usually arriving around 10:20pm and keen to head to a restaurant - so ideally need something open until 1am or later on Fridays. I checked google and on my last couple of trips have been cycling between Mr Wong's, Golden Century and The Bourbon (bar menu only by the time I arrive) - all good but am keen to try something else.

Hoping to find a good Szeuchuan, Lebanese or Japanese, although happy to try anything and any price point or location is fine (I'll probably take a cab).

Thanks all for any help

I like the restaurants on Crown St. in Surry Hill (as I usually stay in the Adina). Bills is generally open until after midnight (no set closing time for food). Some other places shut surprisingly early, e.g. Crown Hotel stops serving dinner at 9! Shame as that is good cheap food.

Mizuya on George Street does pretty decent late night Japanese food.

Not Lebanese, but if you don't mind Turkish, The Sultan's Table on Enmore Road in Newtown is really, really good. Most of the resty's out there are open pretty late, but it's a $15-$20 cab ride from the CBD.

Otherwise, try Mamak, on Goulburn St, although the queues can be pretty hefty even late at night. But the fried chicken is pretty damn tasty! And it's very cheap.

I've also got a soft spot for Mr Crackles, but they're doing more snacky type stuff. The Crackles Classic pork roll is worth a trip.

Brilliant - thanks guys, appreciate the tips. I'll try Bills, Mizuya, Sultan's Table (love Turkish), Mamak if the queues are ok and will swing by Mr Crackles. Should keep me busy for 2 months or so of trips. Will report back, also on any others I find.

If anyone else has any tips to add would be great to hear them

number_6 is wrong - Bills closes at 10pm.

I second Mamak.

Another option is Ananas Bar and Brasserie - closes at 3am on the weekends. It's in the Rocks. Near the Rocks is The Morrison Bar & Oyster Room (in the former Brooklyn Hotel on George St).

There's Gastro Park in Kings Cross open til about 2:30am on Friday nights.

I've personally eaten at Bills at midnight, and it didn't close when I was done (close to 2am). Hours undoubtedly vary by day of the week. Not sure how the hours have changed (if any) with Sydney's new alcohol lockdown rules

Their website clearly states 10pm close.

They may have changed their hours since you last ate.

The new alcohol laws are certainly controversial...
