I found this in the customs regulations for bringing things into Denmark:
"• currency - no restrictions if coming from EU country. Declarable for all travelling outside EU when the amount exceeds 10.000 euro or equivalent in another currency."
I didn't see anything about gold, but maybe it would fall under the rules for currency?
For taking out of India, in THIS I found:
Export of gold jewellery as baggage
"29. There is no value limit on the export of Gold jewellery by a passenger through the medium of baggage so long as it constitutes the bonafide baggage of the passenger"
But do investigate further. I have no expertise/experience in the area.
