Helsinki to Stockholm by ferry - can I abandon my return ticket?

I will be in Finland later this month and was thinking about booking a flight home from Stockholm. (I can use my Alaska miles to book with EK.) Coincidentally I received an email promo offer from Viking Line offering a ridiculously inexpensive offer for a HEL-STO-HEL cruise; 8 Euros inside or 22 Euros outside.

What I am wondering is if we are going to be hassled taking our luggage off the ship in Stockholm? Will there be other problems if we simply leave our cabin empty for the return?

Nobody will know which kind of ticket any departing passenger holds. There could be various reasons both to take your luggage along and for missing the return.

Still worried? Try a wig, shades and some onobtrusive clothes...
